Kick 4 Cancer

Mr Richard Weston and Mr Dave Jackson set up the charity. Both guys live for thaiboxing, but this disease has touched both of their lives. Dave tragically lost his father, Reg Jackson, to the disease in 2006.

Richard was struck down with the disease in 2004, but has battled arduously back to fitness. Although still in remission, Richard and Dave become bonded together through the “Cancer Community” and are striving to keep raising money for such a wonderful cause.

The first K4C event held in Warrington on the 6th August 2006 raised over £8000 and united the thaiboxing community across the globe. Signed shorts were sent from top fighters in Thailand, raffle prizes ranging from custom-made equipment to a months stay at a top gym in Thailand were offered and there was a great atmosphere after it being such a great success.

Following on from this success, Richard is hoping to compete again on Master Skens promotion against the dangerous Eric Derricare
on Feb 18th 2007. Both guys are generously donating their purses to the charity.

Other fighters are also making large donations.

There are top raffle prises including gloves signed by Ricky Hatton and Karl Thompson, plus MMA gloves signed by UFC veteran Mike Bisping.

Further to these ventures and promotions Mr Weston is always looking for donations or money raising idea's to increase awareness and help support Cancer Research UK. If you have any idea's please dont hesitate in contacting him on kick4cancer@hotmail.com
